Real estate scam

Efforts by a young Alberta man to swindle people in a property investment scam in the Okanagan are being investigated by police.

The man tried to buy a number of multi-million dollar properties in the valley including an Oliver winery, but never had the trust money to finalize the deals.

Brenda Moshansky from the Okanagan Mainline Real Estate Board explained his operation.

"My understanding is he works, takes the paperwork and tries to get people to invest in his properties without putting money down," says Moshansky.

She says the RCMP major commercial crimes unit is involved and she doesn't know if the man has been arrested yet or not.
