Pointing what appeared to be a firearm at a pedestrian has landed a 25-year old Vernon man in trouble with police.

Derek James Stephens was arrested in a residence on Manning Place Wednesday.

A search found magazines and ammunition for a semi-automatic pistol but no gun, $5,500 in cash, heroin, cocaine and bear spray.

Stephens is charged with uttering threats and possessing a weapon dangerous to the public. RCMP say more charges could be pending.
