The Rise, the Okanagan’s signature resort community, are holding their Third Annual Moonlight Serenade Gala for Charity on August 23rd to benefit the North Okanagan Neurological Association.

Funds raised during the auctions will go to benefit the North Okanagan Neurological Association. For more than 33 years NONA has been providing specialized programs such as music therapy and physio-occupational therapy to more than 400 children a year in the North Okanagan. Their mission is to strengthen the abilities of children with special needs and enhance opportunities for them to participate in their community.

The event is being held at the exclusive Watermark neighbourhood at The Rise and will begin with a champagne reception at 5 p.m. followed by a three-course dinner, prepared by local caterer Gourmet to Go and accompanied by a selection of fine wines. After the meal a live and silent auction will be hosted by renowned local auctioneer Don Raffan. Guests at the gala will then be treated to a blast from the past from the “Timebenders.” The band will take a musical trip through the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s with memorable tunes from Elton John, Abba, Madonna and many more.

“We are very excited to partner with NONA this year for our Third Annual Moonlight Serenade Gala. Their work is making such a difference in the lives of families throughout the Okanagan and we want to contribute to their efforts,” Leona Snider, president and CEO of The Rise, says. “This event has been such a success for the past two years and we have no doubt the community will work with us again to support this cause with the same high level of enthusiasm.”

Tickets for the black-tie gala are $199 including tax and if previous years are any indication, a sell out can be expected.

Tickets and opportunities to contribute auction items are available by contacting Karen Beaubier at (250) 542-5111 or 1-866-400-8488.

The quiet, secluded neighbourhood of Watermark with its infinity edge to Okanagan Lake has a few home sites still available. This year The Rise will be releasing three new neighbourhoods of home sites around the expanded vineyard. Details on these neighbourhoods will be announced in July.

Take private estate-home acreages with sweeping 180-degree views of the crystal expanse of Okanagan Lake, add access to the water with private moorage and you have Sheerwater, one of the most naturally beautiful locations possible to build a dream home and take advantage of the boating lifestyle in British Columbia’s Okanagan lake and wine country.

“This is a gorgeous place with stunning water views,” emphasizes Jonathan Friesen, a partner at The Mission Group, developers of Sheerwater.

“Everything is premised around waterfront. In the Okanagan, private moorage is a rarity. Moorage is at a high premium in the area and can be extremely prohibitive. Having a private place for your boat is a unique privilege that the Sheerwater lifestyle affords.”

On 70 acres of forested hillside at the foot of Knox Mountain minutes from downtown Kelowna, The Mission Group has developed an exclusive enclave with 10 remaining custom home sites of 2.25 to 3.18 acres available starting from $989,000 to just over $2-million. Most of the homesite acreages are directly on the lake. Homeowners can opt to enjoy private moorage with top-end custom boat lifts. The Sheerwater Pavilion serves as a boarding point to a tram that transports up to eight people to and from the development’s private boat moorage.

First Lakefront Home at Sheerwater to Display Custom Dream Home Possibilities

The estimated $4.9-million dream home – including 2.69 acres of land right on the lake – will be an example of what buyers can do at Sheerwater with their builder of choice. An open-ended building timeline allows purchasers to build their own dream home on their schedule, while well-defined architectural design and landscape guidelines ensure the Sheerwater community encompasses the highest standards of quality and design.

Already Sheerwater promises to become one of Kelowna’s most prestigious addresses. A monument of stainless steel and concrete surrounded by sculpted landscaping and a "floating" steel gate mark the point of arrival at Sheerwater and to what is likely the most spectacular entrance to any subdivision in Canada.

With half of the original 24 estate-home acreages at Sheerwater already sold, this prime lakefront and lakeview property on Okanagan Lake is a luxury opportunity gaining interest from across Canada, the U.S. and abroad.

The Mission Group is a privately held property development company with offices in Kelowna and Abbotsford. It is owned and operated by four long-time friends - Jonathan Friesen, Randy Shier, Gerald Heinrichs and George Summach - each with considerable development experience in Canada and internationally. They’re nice people and they have created quite a name for themselves in the industry.
