It's official. Sam Samaddar is the new General Manager at the Kelowna Airport.

The appointment takes effect immediately.

Samaddar has has held the post on an interim basis since Roger Sellick announced his retirement in February.

Sellick's last day on the job is October 31.

"Sam brings respected leadership and experience to the Kelowna International Airport," says Kelowna City Manager, Ron Mattiussi.

"Over the past five months, Sam has led the airport, its staff and tenants as the interim general manager and has done an excellent job."

Samaddar has been with the airport since 1992 as Superintendent of Airport Operations.
