The suspect in the death of a Kelowna woman has been ordered to stand trial.
Mark Anaka is facing a charge of first degree murder in the death of 31-year-old Crystal Gagnon.
Gagnon’s body was found behind the Parkinson Recreation Centre on September 13, 2007.
Although RCMP have released few details on exactly when or how she died, her obituary says she died on September 9.
Court documents allege that she was killed between August 28 and September 13.
Anaka, a Kelowna resident in his early 30s, was arrested three weeks after her body was found and police say he was involved in the drug scene at the time of his arrest.
Gagnon was addicted to crack cocaine, but was seeking treatment at the time of her death.
The court ruling was handed down on Monday, the eighth day of Anaka’s preliminary hearing. He will return to court Monday to schedule trial dates.
