One man is dead following a single vehicle accident in the Central Okanagan.

Two men were driving west on Sexsmith Road near Reynolds Road around 8:30 p.m. Saturday when their vehicle left the road.

Staff Sergeant Reuter says the driver lost control of the vehicle while going around a curve.

“The vehicle went off the road to the left side, going over a 30 foot embankment. Both men were taken to Kelowna General Hospital. The driver, a 31-year-old man from Sylvan Lake in Alberta, died a short time later as a result of his injuries,” says Reuter.

He says the passenger received minor injuries and has been released from hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
