RCMP have identified the body found in Penticton Creek last week.

Matthew Joseph Underwood, 19, was found near Pickering Street around 3 p.m. July 11.

RCMP members along with Penticton Search and Rescue and the coroner's office attended the scene and pulled Underwood’s body from the water.

The incident is still being investigated.

Corporal Rick Dellebuur says cases like this are treated as suspicious until a coroner’s report tells them otherwise.

An autopsy is expected to be performed sometime Monday.
