Results from a preliminary groundwater assessment in the Joe Rich area, will be revealed at a Regional District of Central Okanagan public information meeting, Wednesday, July 16.

The meeting will be held at the Joe Rich Community Hall, 11481 Highway 33 East. "Doors open at 6:45 pm with a presentation by representatives from Golder Associates starting at 7:00 pm," says Communications Coordinator, Bruce Smith.

There will be a question period for residents after the presentation.

Smith says in late 2007, Golder Associates was commissioned to prepare an overview of the aquifers in the Joe Rich area.

"The meeting will give residents an opportunity to ask questions and to build awareness of the complexities surrounding aquifer sustainability."
