Forestry crews are beginning the process of pulling back equipment after spending three days putting out a forest fire near Gillard Creek.
The 5.2 hectare blaze began early Monday morning from a lightning strike in an area burned out by the 2003 Okanagan Mountain Park Fire.
"We scanned Gillard early this morning (Thursday) with an infrared scanner and we weren't able to find any hot spots," says B.C. Forest Service spokesman, Dale Bojahra.
"The crews did a very good job yesterday of finding and extinguishing those spots that we found with the scanner. Today, crews will be pulling a lot of gear off the fire line and fixing things up a little bit."
Bojahra says crews are entering the patrol phase, ensuring nothing flares up again.
Meantime, a small spot fire in the Fintry area was put out quickly.
Two crews with air support descended on the fire shortly before noon Wednesday.
