It happens regularly sports injuries and other similar maladies. Sprains and overuse injuries are not rare by any stretch of the imagination and can be easily treated as a first step with homeopathy. These types of injuries are where homeopathy has shone brightly for many people, showing them just how effective it can be.
I personally know homeopathic remedies are effective for any type of injury whether it is from some heroic sports move gone terribly wrong or from some other type of situation. I will list a few good remedies that you may want to consider having on hand in your first aid kit for such situations.
Arnica the mainstay of homeopathy has helped many people recover from the effects of trauma and other types of injury. This remedy is an excellent choice for soft tissue injuries, which cause bruising, and pain.
Bellis perennis is another homeopathic remedy that is an indispensable addition to the first aid kit it generally acts a little deeper than arnica. In other words, you could say that it takes over where arnica leaves off. Both of the above-mentioned remedies are great for bruises, sprains, bone fractures and other injuries.
Take a 30 CH potency as soon as you can and continue every 15 minutes for 4 doses, then every 30 minutes for 4 doses and finally every 2 hours as needed.
Although this may not seem so significant in the big scheme of things, it illustrates a major point that we really do not need to reach for an anti-inflammatory or painkiller for every little incident that comes up in our daily life we can use homeopathic remedies instead, without the risk of side effects. In addition, for something this minor, we also do not need to wait for six hours in the emergency room of the hospital only to be told to go home and R.I.C.E. (rest, ice, compression and elevation).
Ruta graveolens is another remedy that seems to be on call a lot during the summer months it is another good one to have on the sidelines. Its main action would be called upon when there is an injury to the tendons.
What about the triathlon or marathon that you are planning to run this summer? You may want to have Rhus tox on hand. This remedy will help for the stiffness that you may experience the next day. You can start taking it upon finishing your race or game along with arnica to help with the pain and stiffness.
When I hear about professional athletes being “sidelined” because of injuries and such, I always wonder if any of them have tried homeopathic medicine, because in all likelihood it would probably make their recovery speedier and less complicated.
Other remedies to consider for the first aid kit are
Aconite - for shock
Belladonna - for overexposure to the sun
Hypericum - for puncture wounds and injury to the nerves
Ledum - for insect bites
Apis - for bee stings
The list could be almost endless, but these particular homeopathic remedies will most likely get a lot of use for the most common injuries.
All these homeopathic remedies are safe, and can be administered to anyone from infants to adults without the risk of side effects. Stay and play safe this summer and always be prepared.
