Early risers will have to go somewhere else for breakfast following a fire at a Kelowna restaurant.
Fire broke out at the White Spot on Harvey Avenue just after 5:30 Sunday morning.
Assistant fire chief, Bryan Collier, says flames were visible when crews arrived.
“The fire was quickly controlled from the exterior. Crews remained on site overhauling the scene until 7 a.m.,” says Collier.
He says the cause of the fire appears to be electrical, but will be investigated by the KFD and BC Safety Authority.
“Damage to the building is minor, within $20,000. Unfortunately, the restaurant will not be able to open until restoration occurs.”
A total of three engines, two ladder trucks and 17 crew members responded to the scene.
