The Santa Clause Parade in Kettle Valley on Saturday was a huge success.
Close to 3,000 people gathered for Parade With a Purpose, which was about more than ringing in the festive season, though.
Founded by Kettle Valley Pub on Main owner Pam Turgeon, says the event was started in an effort to bring some holiday cheer to the community, and help youth in need.
Last year, the parade raised $14,000 for The Bridge Youth and Family Services youth recovery house Campaign. This year, they’re hoping to bring in $50,000.
"It was a big turnout. Pam actually raised over $60,000 for it and she is still raising money for it. The streets were completely lined with people. I'd say it was probably double the size of last year," said Kettle Valley Pub staff member Brooke Lemieux.
