Decrease baby's bumprint

So, you're trying to decrease your carbon footprint, save money, and give your baby the softest option for that tiny little bum? Or maybe you're simply struck by the unique and cute patterns that seem to be popping up these days. Or, you might think going soft is too much work and the idea of cloth diapering seems more of an ideal, than something you think you could do. Or maybe the idea of cloth diapering hasn't even entered your radar?

Here's the thing: cloth diapers have come a long way since the folding and pinning of years gone by and they're worth considering.

They're Healthier, Eco-friendly, and Economical: Disposable diapers have chemicals which have been linked to many physical problems including asthma. Diaper rash is said to increase with disposable diapers because of chemical allergies, poor air flow, and because babies feel dry when they are wet, they tend to spend more time in soiled diapers. Disposable diapers take 500 years to break down in our landfills. As long as you're not buying the most expensive cloth diapers, you can save approximately $1000 over 2 ½ years.

For those that want cloth diapers but don't want the 'eww factor' or 'chore factor' associated with maintaining their own 'cloth diaper stash' (a term cloth diapering groupies call their collection of diapers), you could try a Cloth Diapering Service.

Kelowna's new cloth diapering service Tidy Tushees, provides all of the advantages of cloth diapering without the mess. Using a diaper service is convenient. You put out your soiled diapers once a week, and they're replaced with clean ones. You can't get easier than that! Parents use the diaper service as they decide if cloth diapering is for them, or while they build their own stash, or for the entire diapering years of their baby.

The main reasons many parents are choosing cloth diapering, and moving it back into mainstream parenting, is because they feel so good about putting soft, comfortable (ok, and cute!) natural cloth against their baby's skin, and feel even better that they're not contributing thousands of diapers to the landfill. While we might like our children to leave a legacy behind, the 500 years it takes for their soiled diapers to decompose is surely not one of them!

The main reasons parents choose to use disposables are that they simply don't know about cloth diapers, have misconceptions about how to use cloth diapers, think they're dirty or stinky, think it is expensive to start up, or don't want all that laundry.

And that's where Tidy Tushees comes in. They really do make cloth diapering as simple (if not more so, no 'ack, we need diapers-runs to Walmart'). In fact, it is so simple that anybody can do it!
