Helping children and families in need is the focus of the 4th Annual Variety Children's Radiothon on B-103, today and tomorrow.
The annual event has shifted its time frame, and it's now in May as opposed to September.
There's a huge local link between the dollars that get pledged, and the help given to Kelowna-area families by Variety, the Children's Charity.
For example, 65 families in the Kelowna area have benefited from $95,000 that has been raised on the radio the past four years.
The Radiothon runs from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. both today and Thursday with a goal to surpass last year's total of $40,000.
'Buddy Bears' are a popular item. For a $200, you not only get to provide a cuddly toy bear to a hospitalized child, but this year, you can personally present your donated 'Buddy Bear' at a Variety kids' event in Kelowna next month.
To pledge, call 763-6840.
