Members of Westbank First Nation raised some opposition to a draft policy presented by WFN Chief and Council at a Special Membership Meeting held Thursday.
The concerns were over procedures to be followed in cases of eviction from WFN housing units, in which the decision of Council would be final with no means of appeal.
Membership raised concerns about a political body making such decisions and whether or not they could be impartial.
A petition is being put together to have WFN leaders call a Special Membership Meeting to follow up on a meeting held last December which discussed urgent community social issues.
More signatures are expected to be presented to Chief Robert Louie and Council prior the Third Reading of the proposed WFN Residential Premises Law on Monday morning.
