Ashes stolen in truck theft
by Wayne Moore - Story: 39251
May 9, 2008 / 2:13 pm

He wants his grandmother's ashes back.

Neil Webster was in Orchard Park Friday morning for about an hour. When he came out, his grandfather's truck had been stolen.

"The worst part about it is grandma's ashes were inside. I had just picked them up from the funeral home this morning," says Webster.

"Tomorrow is the service. The death certificates and all the forms were in the truck. It's kind of a sensitive issue."

Webster says his family was going to sprinkle his grandmother's ashes on Sunday, Mother's Day.

He says the vehicle is a beige colour 2004 Ford F250 extended cab truck. It has Alberta licence plates.

Webster says the truck was parked in the back parking lot behind the food court. He says it was taken during the time he was in the mall, between about 9:45 and 10:45 a.m.

"I'd like to get the truck back, but the main thing is the ashes and the papers."

If anybody has information, they are asked to contact Kelowna RCMP.
