The public got a preview look Wednesday at the final plan heading to Kelowna Council for the redevelopment of the four block area from Water to Abbott and Queensway to Harvey.

After six months of input and two previous open houses, Kelowna's Manager of Community Development and Real Estate, Doug Gilchrist, says this plan addresses all the concerns of the community and interest groups who have made submissions.

"We've marginally reduced the heights of the buildings, we've improved the building separation to allow for better access to the parks, the view corridors and sight lines down to City Park," says Gilchrest.

"And, we've made some strong strides I think towards protection of heritage buildings and heritage facades."

Two 30-story towers are proposed along Harvey Avenue and the heights decrease towards the water front and town centre.
