Last month, it was Britney’s turn at doing a cameo role on How I Met Your Mother. Today, it was announced that Lindsay Lohan will be appearing on the season finale of Ugly Betty. I’m not a big fan of Ugly Betty (though I was when it started) but LiLo may just get me to watch. As much as I think Lindsay’s life is pretty much a train wreck lately, it would be nice to see her follow in Britney’s footsteps and attempt to get her professional affairs back in order. Did I just infer that Britney’s life was almost normal? What is this world coming to?
From Alanis to Scarlett
Hot off the headlines, Johansson and her boyfriend, Ryan Reynolds, are engaged. Johansson's publicist, Marcel Pariseau, said Monday that the 23-year-old actress and the 31-year-old actor have not set a wedding date. Ryan Reynolds was previously engaged to Alanis Morissette. A good trade up in the looks department, a big trade up in the acting department, but definitely a bad deal in the singing department. Scarlett’s attempt at a music career probably won’t last too long, but at least she’s a good actress. Although I still can’t believe how unbelievably bad the Nanny Diaries was.
Iron Man 2 Release Date – April 30, 2010
After blazing the box office this weekend with just over 100 million dollars, Iron Man’s success is already paving the way for a sequel. "Iron Man 2" will hit theaters on April 30, 2010, though it's unclear which parts of the original's creative team will return. Robert Downey Jr. will almost definitely be back. I’m happy to see him clean, sober, insurable, and RICH!
Two and a Half Men Meets CSI?
Two shows that I really don’t care much about, Two and a Half Men and CSI, are playing switcheroo with their writing teams this week. In an interesting move for CBS, the writing crew for CSI is writing tonight’s episode for Two and a Half Men and the Men team are writing Thursday’s episode of CSI. Very strange experiment. But already successful, because it’s getting me (a non-fan) to watch both shows this week, just to see how it all turns out.
Posh Spice – Can’t Sing, Can’t Sell Clothes Either
In a legal move that just reeks of desperation, Victoria Beckham is suing LA’s fashion label Rock and Republic for 50 million pounds (about 100 million dollars) for compensation of lost earnings. Are you kidding me? From what I hear, the quality of the 200-dollar jeans is supposed to be quite good. Ya know why they’re failing, Mrs. Beckham? Because you aren’t promoting them enough, and because people don’t really like you. There, case closed. Read all about it here:

Jeremy Piven Funny 24/7
TMZ has a video of Entourage’s Emmy-winning actor Jeremy Piven coming out of a Hollywood bash on Saturday night. Piven, who is fantastically hilarious as Ari Gold on Entourage, proves he can be just as funny in person – as he displays to the TMZ paps. Now why can’t Adrian Grenier, who plays Vinnie Chase, be even half this charming when the paparazzi hound him? Vinnie Chase has just been schooled by Ari!

Neil Diamond CD Drops Tomorrow
Tomorrow, Neil Diamond, who is enjoying some newfound fame from his recent American Idol stint, releases his latest album, Home Before Dark. I’ve always been a fan of his work, and was SO looking forward to hearing this CD. His last effort, 2005’s 12 Songs, was inspired and a joy to listen to. I wish I could say the same for this one. Mrs. Showbiz and I listened to it over the weekend, and as much as we really wanted to like it, we just couldn’t get into it. Maybe you’ll disagree, but we were quite let down. Not enough to deter us from seeing him in concert later this summer though. Word is that the tour is going to be a big show, and worth every penny.
