The outrage of the community has been heard and two suspects accused of vandalizing two schools have turned themselves in.
The vandalism occurred last month at Sensisyuten House of Learning and Chief Tomat Elementary on the Westside and the damage was extensive.
Doors were broken, washrooms were destroyed and 17 windows were smashed at Sensisyuten. A number of windows were also smashed at Chief Tomat. The damage is estimated at $30,000.
The Law Enforcement Officer on the Westbank Reserve, Richard Johns, says two 10 year-old boys have admitted to the destruction.
"Two boys, I can't release their names, kind of turned themselves in on each other. Right now, the RCMP are talking with them and their families."
Johns says there's talk of restitution for the damage and that the insurance company is also involved.
He says the First Nations community was outraged.
"The community and the students were quite upset that this happened."
In an effort to clean up the damage, the Westbank First Nation and School District 23 are holding a clean up day at Sensisyusten Tuesday.
