by Castanet Staff - Story: 39112
May 4, 2008 / 10:15 am

Rescue crews including the RCMP boat crew were called into action Sunday morning on Okanagan Lake.

A passerby had called 911 with a report of seeing something sinking in the water between Peachland and Rattlesnake Island, and crews were dispatched to the area.

Reported as being in the water “directly in line between 13th Avenue in Peachland and Rattlesnake Island”, the sinking object was quickly located and towed to shore.

The object in distress turned out to be a vehicle-sized electrical cable spool.
