Two women were injured and shaken after being victim to a home invasion early Friday morning.
The incident occurred just before 7 a.m. in the 2000 block of Abbott Street. When police arrived, the suspect, a lone male, had already fled.
RCMP Constable, Julie Rattee, says one of the women woke up to the sound of breaking glass and came face-to-face with a man crawling through a main floor window.
"A confrontation took place and it became clear the suspect was in the midst of a break and enter in search of valuables," says Rattee.
She says the woman ran into a bedroom where her friend was asleep with the suspect following.
"A further confrontation ensured and the suspect, armed with a weapon, assaulted the two females. The victims fought back and eventually locked the suspect out of the room and called police."
Rattee says a search of the area failed to turn up the suspect.
The man is described as a Caucasian male, 5'5" to 5'9", 20 to 24 years of age. He has a skinny to medium build, pale complexion, stringy medium brown hair, wearing a black hoody pullover and white runners.
Anyone with information is asked to call Kelowna RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
