A Kelowna development company has pledged to help the city's homeless.
The G Group of Companies, which will open phase two of Southwind at Sarsons on Saturday, is joining the Kelowna Gospel Mission's 30k Club.
The 30k Club, launched in January, provides a sustainable and tangible way to address the issues of housing and homelessness in Kelowna.
The G Group has pledged that for every unit sold during Saturday's Grand Opening, they will purchase a year's worth of membership in the 30k Club.
"We believe in the 30k Club and its principles and see it as a practical way to get involved in an issue that affects us all," says G Group Operations Manager, Andrew Gaucher.
We call on all of our friends in the development industry to join us and make the similar commitments through their properties."
Gospel Mission Resource Development Director, Eric Frans, says the purpose of the 30k Club is 'Opening Doors of Hope,' something that only happens if everyone gets involved.
"The issues of housing and homelessness affect us all. It is a community issue and we believe the 30K Club provides a community solution," says Frans.
"We all believe something should be done, and now we all can do something. Along with the G Group, we extend an open invitation to development companies in Kelowna to Join Us as well. The 30K Club can be a model for communities across Canada for grassroots solutions to the housing and homelessness crisis."
