Two men are behind bars in connection with a series of armed robberies up and down the Okanagan over the past week.

RCMP confirmed the two men were arrested in Vernon during the early morning hours Thursday.

The men, age 29 and 30 are believed to be involved in five armed robberies in Penticton, Kelowna and Vernon.

"Investigators from Penticton, Kelowna and Vernon Detachments are currently working together to advance these investigations and obtain charges from Crown Council," says Staff Sergeant, Cam Percy.

Vernon RCMP say additional information will be released at a media briefing Friday morning.

The string of armed robberies began with the hold-up at the Scotia Bank in Penticton Thursday, March 20.

Two businesses in Kelowna were next on the list. Liquids Liquor Store on Highway 97 was robbed March 21, followed by a Subway Restaurant on Leckie Sunday, March 23.

The following day, a Subway Restaurant in Vernon was robbed. The last robbery was a Scotia Bank in Vernon March 25.
