Hundreds of children found thousands of eggs in Kelowna over the weekend.

Some 5,000 eggs were scattered around the Parkinson Recreation Centre for an Easter egg hunt held on Friday and about 600 children came out to find them.

Hosted by Victory Life Fellowship, the Easter event was well received by children and parents.

“I am so glad this egg hunt was set up for the kids,” says parent, Lani Caufiled. “We don’t really have the money to do an egg hunt, so it was nice that there was something I could bring my kids to.”

Kristy, 6, says she enjoyed the face painting and meeting the Easter Bunny.

“He gave me an egg. I don’t want to eat it right away, I want to save it for awhile.”

In addition to the egg hunt, volunteers organized a pancake breakfast, cake eating contests and an air guitar competition.
