Police have released the name of a Vernon senior that was struck and killed by a pick-up truck this week.

Cormie Macarthur, 83, died Tuesday after the truck hit him while he was walking his dog in the area of 27th Ave. and Okanagan Landing Road.

The driver of the truck fled the scene and has yet to come forward.

"Police are following up on all leads, and are doing all they can to bring this case to a successful conclusion," says Vernon RCMP spokesman, Gord Molendyk.

The owner of the pick-up truck has been contacted and has been ruled out as a suspect.
