Vandals targeted a vacant home at the intersection of Belgo and Springfield roads Monday afternoon.

Kelowna fire crews were dispatched at around 2:30 and the vacant structure was fully involved when they arrived.

Police are looking for suspects.

"Someone saw people running from the building and that's why the RCMP are here," says Assistant Fire Chief, Rod Miller.

"They chased them but they couldn't find anybody."

RCMP dispatched AIR3 in the fruitless search.

Miller says the structure has been gutted by Monday's blaze and that officials will be in touch with the owner to perhaps have the structure bulldozed.

In 2005, the same shack was set on fire.

The cause of that fire was never determined.
