An Edmonton man whom police consider violent may be on the loose in Kelowna.

Allen Javorsky, wanted on an outstanding Canada Wide Warrant, evaded Kelowna RCMP Wednesday afternoon.

"The investigation has revealed that Javorsky has been residing in the Kelowna area recently," says RCMP Constable, Julie Rattee.

"Police located him Wednesday near Harvey Avenue and Kirschner Road. When they attempted to apprehend Javorsky, he fled on foot."

She says police dogs were brought in to assist in the search, however, they were unsuccessful.

Rattee says Javorsky, who has also gone by the name of Chad Jaborski, has been at large since 2006 when he had his parole revoked.
