Dangerously low on food

A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I were at the SPCA just looking at all the adorable cats and kittens that were (and still are) there. We spoke to a lady named Linda who informed us that the SPCA was dangerously low on food for these darlings.

Apparently, most people think of donating dog food but not cat food, or when they do think of it, they do not provide high quality food which is essential for the little creatures. Since hubby and I only feed our 3 cats Iams food, we decided our new friends deserved no less. The following day, he took two, 14-lb bags of the Indoor/Weight Control formula in. They were thrilled! We then decided we had to do it again – this time we involved my company - Genesis Restorations Ltd. This weekend we bought two, 14-lb bags and two 8-lb bags. We nearly bought out the selection at Wal-Mart.

Anyway, here is a picture of the happy volunteer who took our donation. Talk about a “feel-good” moment.

I hope this letter will prompt more people to help our feline friends that have to spend the holidays (never mind the rest of the year) in a shelter. I have already sent this picture to my sister-in-law in Kamloops as a challenge for them to do the same, or better. Now I send the same challenge to those in Kelowna.

Here’s what we say, "If you can’t adopt ‘em, feed ‘em & cuddle ‘em”.
