A semi truck sitting near the Highway 5 and Highway 3 junction by Hope has caught on fire Thursday afternoon, with heavy flames and smoke spilling from the front engine.

The fire looks to have completely charred the front vehicle.

Sharon Leopold caught a video of the fire as she went past.

The heat from that fire was so intense, you could feel it through the passenger window on the driver's side of the truck," she shared, after driving through.

She also pointed out the explosion occurring from the tanks.

"One of the drivers behind me said he heard a second explosion as they were going past it. It was a pretty crazy fire."

Traffic is reportedly getting by in both directions.
