The 2007 Okanagan College Alumni Association Award winners have been announced.

Corinne Inman of Penticton has been awarded the Young Alumni Award and Nick Arkle of Kelowna will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award at a dinner reception in October.

Inman, 26, is the second person to be presented the Young Alumni Award. She is the owner of Morpheus Graphics and Printing Solutions, which was nominated for two Penticton Wine Country Chamber of Commerce Business Excellent awards during its first year of operation.

Arkle is the Woodlands manager and chief forester at Gorman Bros. Lumber Ltd. He is a very active community volunteer and has been involved in many regional, national and international organizations, such as Hope for the Nations, the Regional District of the Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission and the Kelowna Chamber of Commerce.

Also being recognized at the awards ceremony will be Kelly Scott's Canadian and World Women's Curling Championship team and four members of the Okanagan School of Business competition team.

The business competition team was the only Canadian team at the 43rd annual International Collegiate Business Strategy Competition held in San Diego in April.

The team won best overall team performance, top written report, top stock portfolio performance coach, top stock portfolio performance students (first and second place).

The four Okanagan School of Business students finished the competition with a stock price that was four times higher than the next best competitor – the MBA team from Regents Business School in London, England,” says Ferreira

The 2007 Alumni Awards banquet will take place at the Kelowna Ramada Inn at 5 p.m. on October 25. Tickets are $85 for alumni and $100 for guests. To purchase tickets, call Katerina Hay at (250) 862-5630, extension 3.
