Blazers forward Connor Zary named First Team All-Star

Zary a First Team All-Star

While the 2019-20 season was short, it doesn't take away from the spectacular season Connor Zary had.

And in recognition of it, the WHL has named the top line Kamloops Blazer to their Western Conference First All-Star Team. The league made the announcement today (April 7) on Twitter, a day after linemate and Blazers captain Zane Franklin was named to the second team.

Zary, who's still 18 and eligible for the 2020 NHL draft, stacked up impressive offensive numbers with 38 goals and 48 assists. That tied him for fifth in the league in terms of points and goals, and he tied for third in power play goals.

In the announcement, the WHL also notes he's nearly a point-a-game player, with 182 points in 188 games in the league.

He was second in team scoring, just behind Franklin (91 points, 29 goals), and just ahead of the pair's other linemate Orrin Centazzo (81 points, 44 goals), making the trio one of the most dangerous offensive lines in the league.
