Gwen Stefani is doing what she can to make boyfriend Blake Shelton's new mullet as stylish as possible by shaving a couple of stripes into the side of his head.

The country superstar, who sported the dated cut during his youth, recently decided to let his typically-short hair grow out during his forced downtime, after the coronavirus pandemic led to the postponement of his Friends and Heroes Tour.

"I am growing my mullet back as a symbol of hope or some s**t like that...," he declared on Twitter last week. "Anyway it's coming back! For real. Stay tuned..."

On Thursday, Shelton showed off his work-in-progress in a video clip on Twitter, revealing fashionista Stefani had stepped in to try and improve his changing image.

"Quarantine mullet update 3/26/2020," Shelton captioned the post. "@gwenstefani has decided to take it to the next level.. Stripes."

The couple is also keeping busy in self-isolation by dressing up in matching camouflage outfits, with the No Doubt rocker even donning a pair of comfy Crocs bearing the same design.

"Our first quarantine photo shoot...," Shelton quipped as he shared a picture of the pair posing for the camera.
