What is Right for you, Could Kill Me.

The one-size fits all philosophy is a great one, that is, if you are selling t-shirts and hats, for your health however you may want to think twice about the one size mentality. In fact, it seems that if you do not fit into the pants of the state run system you may have to run around naked, metaphorically speaking (I hope).

Although many are happy with the state run system of health care, those particular people are probably the ones that are healthy, for the rest however, the people that use the system, there is little to be desired.
The definition of health contained in the constitution of the World Health Organization (WHO), was first signed in 1946 and subsequently put into effect in 1948 and has been questioned constantly ever since. The view of health as “a complete state of physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” is preceded by a declaration of nine other principles to be “basic to the happiness, harmonious relations and security of all peoples”. This unfortunately is a fantasy because if this were the case maybe three or four people on this earth are living it, the rest of us are wondering what went wrong.

I wonder if the U.S. considered this when they destroyed the lives and health of almost every person on this earth whether directly or indirectly. I wonder if other countries ever considered this when they have done the stupid things that they have done- yes, that includes Canada.
What about if an individual or a company decides that they want to destroy an ecologically sensitive habitat to build a gated community, mine for uranium, or put up a cell tower, I would say that, that certainly has an opposite view to the fore mentioned WHO constitution. The bottom line I guess, for any action is, it is all about me and let us hide the real suffering. I do not understand many things in this great world of ours, but

I do have an acute perception.

If we show horrific pictures of people suffering in a “war torn” country to the public via the evening news, even though we caused it, we spin it to make it feel all warm and fuzzy by offering missionary doctors and “Western” medical supplies to save them. We however should never question this, or we may be flagged as a terrorist loving, tree-hugging bleeding heart- someone who does not support the cause.

Now, let us get back to the state run system of health care, or if you like the Medicare system. You know the system well, the one that has patients lying in the hallway, vomiting and soiling themselves in humiliating sight for all to see. The system that makes you wait until you are dead, then schedules you for surgery. If this system is our right, then our rights are not being upheld.

Mind you, it is not all the “systems” fault, it is all of our faults because we made all the choices or we were indifferent to the policy changes that were implemented throughout our lives. We were the ones that marked the “X” on the ballot when we voted and we only voted for whom our peer group, church, or the media told us to vote for because we were obedient.

I am going to write this part very slow, so I do not leave anyone behind. If you require immediate changes and you would like to have more options for your health care that would make it economically easier for you to obtain, then, you need to make it known. You need to ask questions to potential MPs or MLAs, and you deserve more than political “lip service”- you deserve action.

Sometimes you are better off paying for alternative therapies and taking responsibility for your own health because that is where the true healing begins, why not consider consulting a homeopath for a problem that the other system has not addressed this may be the answer.
