Big White wins 2019 Pursuit Attraction and Adventure TIAC award

Big White wins big award

Big White Ski Resort has been named winner of the 2019 Pursuit Attraction and Adventure Award, given by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada.

The prestigious national award celebrates the best in Canadian tourism and was accepted by longtime Big White skier Mike Ruby.

Big White senior vice-president Michael J. Ballingall says his team is proud to have been recognized.

“What a thrill to be honoured in the nation’s capital in front of the best of the best in the tourism industry and be recognized for the hard work and effort of our team members. We all do our best to show off the natural features of our mountain for all to enjoy in the winter and summer. Mother Nature is the true star of the story," said Ballingall.

Finalists were judged on how well they promote visitor participation, foster a greater appreciation of the outdoors, offer outdoor experiences and ensure customer satisfaction.

Big White emphasized its diverse ski terrain, wide scope of non-skiing activities, commitment to teaching first-time skiers and snowboarders and environmentally friendly investments.

The award ceremony took place Wednesday night in Ottawa.

Meanwhile, opening day for the downhill season is just days away.

Opening Day is planned for next Thursday (U.S. Thanksgiving), with family friendly activities planned right through the following weekend, including music, a Christmas light up and more.
