Craft alcohol industry converging on Penticton for 'Fortify'

Booze biz to gather here

The craft alcohol industry will converge again in Penticton next week for the Fortify Conference at the Lakeside Resort.

The one-day event, now in its second year, brings together those in the drinks business for a day of professional development and presentations.

“This second event once again brings together those who produce craft beer, ciders, wine, or spirits for a day of education, collaboration, and networking,” says Sandra Oldfield of Elysian Project, co-founder of the conference. “We have a great line-up of speakers and a packed trade show with a wide variety of vendors.”

Speakers include Adrienne Stillman, Director of Marketing at Wine Direct, Geoff McIntyre of MNP, Pete Luckett of Nova Scotia’s Luckett Vineyard, Jennifer Sencar of B.C. Employment Standards, and Chantal Keely of Farm Credit Canada.

The event was established to help the small business owners behind wineries and craft breweries, cideries and distilleries learn how to cope with issues unique to the alcohol industry. A 7,100-square foot trade show including more than 50 booths will also take place.

Fortify runs on Nov. 19 at the Lakeside Resort. More information here.
