Toto plays final show

Toto reunited with Africa singer David Paich for the group's final show in Pennsylvania on Sunday night.

The group wrapped up their 40 Trips Around the Sun farewell tour at Philadelphia's Metropolitan Opera House, and Paich, who has been too ill to perform at many of the band's 2019 concerts, made a surprise appearance to perform Africa - a song he co-wrote.

Bandmate Steve Lukather recently told The Morning Call Paich was forced to sit out the tour after suffering "some sort of a seizure" on the bus.

"We went home and he had to retire from touring because of his health," the guitarist explains. "Apparently he pushed himself a little too hard and he fell. I mean, Dave's still playing. He can sing. He's up and about and he's happy and he's walking around. But he's not built for speed anymore."

Lukather also insisted the Philadelphia show would be the band's last one for a while.

"I don't know what the future's gonna be, but I do know that's gonna be the last show in Philly for the foreseeable future," he said. "And certainly the end of this configuration of Toto... I can tell you that this version is dead October 20... We gotta take a break from all this."
