Plans for the adventure park outside of Revelstoke can move forward after getting approval from the Columbia Shuswap Regional District.

The CSRD board adopted Zoning and Official Community Plan amendments at their meeting on Thursday, Oct. 17.

The park is planning to build on a property east of Revelstoke and south of the Trans-Canada Highway at Greely.

Zip lining, bungee jumping, rock climbing and hiking are just a few of the planned activities to be at the park when it opens.

The main feature will eventually be a constructed lake with man-made waves, which will offer surfing and boating opportunities.

There will be accommodations at the park, as well as food services.

The proposal included improving the Trans-Canada and Greely Road intersection, fencing along the CP railway and some land clearing for improved sightlines.

Construction won't begin until all the permits are granted and receiving provincial approval.
