Josh Dueck is being inducted into the Paralympic Hall of Fame

Dueck for hall of fame

Vernon native Josh Dueck is being inducted into the Canadian Paralympic Hall of Fame this fall.

He grew up skiing on Silver Star, and now he is being recognized at a national level.

Dueck is a two-time Paralympian and one of alpine skiing's most innovative athletes - he was the first person to do a back flip in a sit ski.

He snagged a silver medal in his debut Games in Vancouver in 2010.

He then became one of the stars for Canada's team for Sochi in 2014, winning gold in the men's sitting super combined and a silver in the downhill.

Dueck was also Canada's flag bearer for the closing ceremonies in Sochi.

The induction ceremony will take place in Vancouver on Nov 15.
