A downtown Victoria street was closed to traffic Tuesday morning as police responded to a suspicious item.
About 7:30 a.m., the 700 block of View Street was shut down between Douglas Street and Blanshard Street after a large pressure cooker was reported left on top of a garbage can.
Police used an X-ray machine to see inside the device and determined it was not a threat, CTV News reports.
The street was reopened shortly after 9 a.m.
