Power has been restored to a large swath of Kelowna that was in the dark overnight.

Reports of the outage started coming in shortly after midnight.

FortisBC reports two apparent outages affected an area spanning from Highway 97 and Highway 33, all the the way into the Mission and East Kelowna, in the McCulloch Road area.

Fortis says power was restored about 4 a.m.

One of the overlapping outages was caused by third party damage, the other by wildlife.

The blackout affected about 3,000 customers.
