Canucks ink Boeser to deal

Sniper Brock Boeser will be rejoining the Vancouver Canucks after inking a new contract.

The NHL club announced the deal Monday evening.

The deal is for three years, with an average annual salary of $5.875 million.

"We're very pleased to have Brock re-sign," said GM Jim Benning.

"He's a talented player, a key contributor to our offence and an important part of our team's future. We look forward to having Brock join the team in preparation for the upcoming season."

Boeser is one of several restricted free agents who had yet to sign extensions.

The 22-year-old missed all of training camp while the Canucks and his agent tried to hammer out a contract.

Boeser, originally drafted 23rd overall in 2015 finished third in team scoring last season with 26 goals and 30 assists in 69 games.

Over the course of two plus seasons with the Canucks, Boeser has 59 goals and 57 assists in 140 games.
