A kayaker who headed out off the shores of the Sunshine Coast earlier this week is now past due and considered missing.

Authorities are now searching for Jesse Ferrand who headed out in his blue kayak on Monday.
CTV News is reporting Ferrand's car, an older model Dodge 3500, is still at the Roberts Creek beach parking lot.

Sunshine Coast RCMP have now released a picture of the missing man in hopes that someone will recognize him and may have seen him over the past few days. His kayak is a blue Current Designs model known as a "Breeze".

"Anyone with beachfront property from Sechelt to Gibsons is asked to check their beach in the event it had been washed or pulled to shore," the RCMP said in a news release.
