HA prospect back in jail

A man awaiting trial on charges of aggravated assault is back behind bars.

Colin Michael Bayley, 30, was arrested a week ago after police say he failed to comply with bail conditions stemming from his original arrest.

Bayley was initially arrested May 6 in connection with an incident at an establishment on the 300 block of Bernard Avenue.

“Bayley had previously been taken into police custody for breach in mid-July, on the strength of another warrant issued by the courts, after he failed to present himself at his door during RCMP conducted curfew checks of his residence,” said Cpl. Nick Brodeur of the Kelowna RCMP Street Enforcement Unit.

“The Kelowna RCMP SEU remains committed to monitoring offenders who reside in our community.”

Bayley now faces seven counts of breach of recognizance, along with the original assault charge.

He was scheduled to appear in court today.
