Kelowna fire crews had their hands full with an overnight fire on Lakeshore Road.

Reports of a blaze at a home in the 4300 block of Lakeshore Road came in at approximately 3:30 a.m.

18 firefighters, 4 engines, 1 rescue truck, and a command vehicle responded to the residential fire. When they arrived on scene thick smoke could be seen billowing out of the home, 4 tenants were outside the building when crews arrived. The source of the blaze was determined to be in one of the basement bedrooms.

No one was injured but one pet is unaccounted for.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
