Man stabbed to death

Surrey RCMP are investigating a fatal stabbing.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is requesting public assistance to further its ongoing investigation into the stabbing death of a 45-year-old Surrey man.

Sgt. Frank Jang said on Aug. 16 at approximately 3:23 a.m., police received calls about a man found bleeding in the 1700-block of 152 Street.  

“Frontline officers arrived on scene to find 45-year-old Delphin Paul Prestbakmo unresponsive with serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at scene,” said Jang. “The Integrated Police Dog Services conducted a track to a nearby residence where one male was taken into custody.'

IHIT was called in to take conduct of the investigation.

It is still early in the investigation and investigators are working to determine motive.

“We are releasing the name of our murdered victim in an effort to determine his activities prior to his death. We need Delphin Prestbakmo’s closest friends and associates to come forward,” said Jang of IHIT. “We also urge any witnesses who were in the area of the 1700-block of 152 Street to contact us.”
