Providence Funeral Homes and Little Engine Wines have come up with a unique way to memorialize loved ones.

The two Penticton businesses have joined forces to offer personalized wine labels. Anyone who uses Providence Funeral Homes can be given a personalized bottle of Little Engine Wines with the name of their loved one inscribed on the label.

“Some of my best memories were shared with my grandfather over his wines,” Providence funeral director and partner Nolan Adam said. “It gave me the idea to offer the families we work with the same opportunity – to share favourite stories of their loved ones over a bottle of local wine.

“Our friends at Little Engine appreciated the concept and jumped on board.”

Families will also have the option to buy more wine with the personalized labels.

“My grandfather was a novice winemaker,” Adam said. “Whenever we visited him, we shared stories and memories over his wine. He would wander down to his cellar and come up with a bottle or two to share. When he passed, my family really connected and remembered him while enjoying the last of his wines. It was a way to keep his memory alive.”
