A driver in Oliver has been ticketed with leaving the scene of an accident, after smashing through a power pole early Monday morning.

Oliver Daily News reports emergency crews and FortisBC were dispatched to Ryegrass Road, south of Orchard Grove Lane, at about 5:30 a.m.

A grey car had sheared off a power pole and was left abandoned in a nearby orchard. 

Sgt. Blaine Gervais of the Oliver RCMP says they have since caught up with the driver of the car and issued them violation tickets.
