A celebration of tattoos

The ink is flowing at the Kelowna Curling Club this weekend, where 170 artists are taking part in the annual Okanagan Tattoo Show.

The event, now in its seventh year, brings artists from all over the world to show off their skills in Kelowna.

The show has grown by leaps and bounds over the past seven years, and now features beers from 11 local breweries and several bands each night.

“It's a super incredible chance for people to collect a tattoo from people who would normally never be in the Okanagan, and with such a gigantic diversity of the amount of artists and styles that are here, you can pretty much get something for every taste,” said Rob Jobe, one of the event's organizers.

This year, the show boasts artists coming from as far as New Zealand and Hong Kong.

Jobe says he's heard from many artists that the Kelowna show is their favourite show to come to.

The show runs until 11 p.m. Saturday night and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Single day tickets can be purchased online.
