Drake ecstatic over win

Drake couldn't control his excitement as his beloved Toronto Raptors beat the Golden State Warriors to become the first-ever Canadian team to win the NBA Finals on Thursday night.

The God's Plan rapper has been a regular fixture on the sidelines as the Raptors made their way through the Finals, and has attracted criticism from some for his courtside antics - including shouting at the players.

So it stands to reason that the 32-year-old was more than a little excited as his team won the championship. Footage of the star shortly after the Raptors' victory showed him swigging Champagne from the bottle, draping himself in the Canadian flag and sporting Raptors' championship clothing.

He also gave a post-match interview, much to the delight of fans, and appeared to be struggling to find words at one point during the chat.

"This is poetic. This is poetic," he said. "You just have to watch it happen. The six in six. (Raptors player) Kyle Lowry with a ring. (Raptors player) Kawhi Leonard bringing a chip to the city. I want my chips with the dip, that's all I know. I don't want my chips plain. I want my chips with the dip. So bring them dips. That dynasty's over. We did what we had to do.

"We did this off of heart. We did this off of love. We willed this into existence. We manifested this. I told you the first time. People like to make memes - make another meme out of this. It's beautiful."

Following the Raptors' victory, many celebrities took to Twitter to praise the team for their win.

"Mostly I'm happy for Drake. #TORvsGSW," Elizabeth Banks hilariously wrote, while Shawn Mendes kept his message simple, posting: "TORONTOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!"

"YEEEESSSS. What a game. What a championship. Proud to be from Toronto everyday but today is just a little bit more so. #WeTheNorth Thank you @Raptors for playing your a*ses off," Suits star Patrick J. Adams tweeted.

Drake is now planning to celebrate the Raptors' win by dropping two new songs - one called Omerta and another, featuring Rick Ross, entitled Money in the Grave.
