Time to change studded tires

The clickety-clackety patter of studded tires on pavement is a sign of spring, and a chance to get fined.

Studded tires are only to be used on B.C. highways from Oct. 1 to April 30. Use of studded tires outside of this period may result in a fine, according to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.

"The fine for driving with studded tires after April 30 is $109," said Danielle Pope, Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure media relations representative said.

It's not good for the life and usefulness of the tires, and it can damage the pavement.

Plus, it sounds like your dog when it really needs its nails trimmed, and no one likes that.
